Amanda Anderson, B. Comm., CFP, FDS
A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, Amanda joined Independent Financial as an independent financial advisor in January 2012. She started in the industry with TD Waterhouse and spent 12 years with a Canadian investment management firm.
Her background in the industry gives her a unique approach to helping clients achieve their goals with greater peace of mind. As a Certified Financial Planner her approach is to provide comprehensive financial advice by addressing wealth accumulation, retirement and income goals, as well as recommending insurance solutions where appropriate.
Amanda is also a Financial Divorce Specialist (FDS). An FDS works with lawyers and mediators in designing an objective assessment of potential settlement proposals. Specifically, an FDS can educate clients about tax and other financial consequences of retaining or giving up certain assets; understanding pension plans and other investments; developing a range of potential scenarios and modelling the long-term outcomes through the use of specialized software; and counselling the client on budget management through transition.
